The community indicator project from the Foundation is now called the Tri-State Community Wellness Indicators, CWI, to better reflect the broad scope of health and wellness indicators it contains.  This print version is a comprehensive overview of Tri-State quality of life indicators.  For the full data set, please see www.tristatecwi.org. This online resource represents the most comprehensive collection of point-in-time and trend data the Foundation has released to date.  The CWI has the mission of contributing to the health and wellness of the region by benchmarking its quality of life status and providing a means to measure progress.

The genesis of this report is Welborn Baptist Foundation’s ongoing commitment to be data-driven and research-based in developing our agenda for change. Many of the eighteen health status issues discussed in this report are derived from the substance of the Foundation’s Leading Community Health Indicators Report, last updated in 2006. These data are routinely available for the states and the nation, but are frequently not available for individual counties. Since the release of the previous Leading Community Health Indicators Report, the Foundation worked together with community members to broaden and deepen the scope of this 2006 report, and to develop new indicators that help us better understand the status of the area we serve.We hope our citizens in business, government, family and personal lives will take advantage of this report to look at this picture of our community.
